Each and every staff member strives to promote a happy and caring environment for all our pupils.

Positive behaviour is reinforced and rewarded and we try to provide ample opportunities where students are acknowledged for their teamwork and kindness to others.

Here, in Scoil Mhuire, we do not condone any behaviour which is deemed unhelpful or hurtful by any student.

We have recently revised our Anti-Bullying Policy and have devised a 'Positive Behaviour Programme' which will address bullying behaviours amongst our students. Please click here to download a copy.

Our Location and Facilities

Picture

Scoil Mhuire, situated in Broadway village, is the parish school of Our Lady’s Island/Tacumshane, Co. Wexford.

The school has a splendid view of Our Lady’s Island Lake with the Atlantic Ocean meeting St. George’s Channel in the background.

Built in 1980, it is the most south-easterly school in Ireland. Our school crest shows the windmill in Tacumshane and the castle in Our Lady’s Island.

There is ample space for children to play and explore, with a large pitch, tarmac playground, vegetable plot, picnic tables, a hurling wall and a basketball court.

We encourage all students to be active at break times and to exercise fairness in games.

Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard and numerous other resources, all of which enhance the multi-sensory experience of our pupils.

We have a particularly large learning support room and a resource room with an ever-growing supply of resources.
