Senior infants and first class take part in paired reading with Ms. Donnellan's class twice a week. Each child is partnered with an older student and together they read graded books. The students are given the opportunity to build fluency through reading familiar text and are questioned on the content by the older students. This activity not only helps to improve students' reading but also helps to build confidence in both younger and older students.
Classes really look forward to this activity each week.
