We looked at some pictures of structures and we identified different 2-D shapes.
Then we made a square and a triangle using cardboard strips and pins. Next we tested the two shapes to see which was stronger. When we pushed the square, it fell over. When we pushed the triangle, it stayed up. Triangles are stronger than squares! We put a cardboard strip through the middle of the square to make two triangles and this made the square stronger. Finally we used jelly sweets and cocktail sticks to make our own structures. We made the structures using triangle shapes as they are the strongest!
