In groups, we were given a bundle of K'nex pieces and Ms Druhan set us a challenge to construct a piece that would cross a river. We discussed what we could make. Some groups made boats, other groups made rafts and some made bridges. We really enjoyed constructing our pieces. Take a look at them!

We did an EGGSperiment! We had to guess which egg was raw and which egg was boiled. We looked at them, we shook them, we felt them, we shone a torch on them and we put them in water but we couldn't figure out which one was which. We then remembered that the raw egg was liquid inside and the boiled egg was solid inside. So we spun them and stopped and one of the eggs kept spinning. The egg was raw kept spinning as it was liquid inside. Ms Druhan cracked the egg that we thought was raw to see if we were right! We were!
Ms Druhan asked us if we could make the boiled egg stand up on its own. We used a jumper firstly. We thought about sports, like rugby and what they use to make the ball stand up. We piled up some salt and we placed the egg standing up on the salt. We tried to see how much salt was needed to make the egg stand up. We started to blow away the salt using a straw so that we could aim it carefully. Finally, we discovered that the egg would stand with only a few grains of salt. Second Class made 2D shapes using our bodies and lollipop sticks. Have a look and try to guess the shape!
We looked at various pieces of art created by Kandinsky. We talked about how the pieces made us feel and what we could see in the pictures. We then produced a piece of art inspired by Kandinsky's artwork.
On the day before the Halloween break, we dressed up. Here we are with some of our Halloween art. We created skeletons using various pasta shapes and we also made some witches.
One day, we completed a flower hunt. We had to find the flowers in the pictures in our wild flower garden. We also explored the vegetables that were growing in the school garden. We even found a few caterpillars!
We used a pencil to discover our dominant eye. We also discovered our blind spot using a simple card with a cross and dot on it.
We wrote acrostic name poems about our interests and personalities. We are all similar and different in so many ways. We are certainly unique!
We designed postcards by drawing a picture. Then we wrote postcards to our family and friends and addressed them.
